Meh.
Angel Gomes, the most overrated youth prospect at Manchester United since Adnan Januzaj, has decided his future no longer rests at the club.
While everyone at the American Red Devils wishes Gomes the best, in the scheme of things this isn’t anything to fret about. With Jesse Lingard consistently finding a spot ahead of Angel as backup #10, Gomes days look numbered in the first place.
Additionally, while the hype around Angel Gomes has been constant over the last 4-years, he’s really never proved anything on the pitch in the English Premier League.
While I would have loved to retain the young lad and send him on loan next season, there is a crop of talent in the youth setup that would arguably give him a run for his money.
Tahith Chong already looks more well suited to handle the physicality of the Premier League, while highly rated 17-year old Hannibal Mejbri is apparently the most talented player in the Academy, and looks to break in the full squad next year.
The future is bright at Manchester United, with or without Angel Gomes.
