January Transfer Window Recap. Can We Bring in Bruno?

Manchester United need players this January transfer window due to the lack of depth in the squad, exasperated because of injuries. The media has been buzzing with transfer rumors, but how realistic are the chances of bringing in new faces to Old Trafford?

First on the list is Bruno Fernades. The Sporting Club center attacking midfielder has been heavily linked with the Reds for a while now. He signed a new contract with his club in Portgual this past autumn, and most of the hype around this deal going through seemed to have died. However, there have been rumored reports of United offering 50 million to bring in Bruno a Red Devil this January and it is beginning to look likely. I give the chances of this transfer going through to be 9/10.

Another CAM in the shortlist for United, James Maddison. Leicester City manager, Brendan Rogers, said that the club was not looking to sell Maddison this January. Since Leicester is currently sitting second in the league table, they cannot afford to lose any of their current players. A January transfer appears to be unlikely, but in the summer United will most likely pursue him again. The chances of this transfer going through in January is 1/10 and in the summer rising to 6/10.

United needs midfielders! Jack Grealish might be an answer to United midfield questions. However, Villa cannot lose their main CAM this January or else their chances of staying in the Premier Leauge next season will plummet. If Villa is relegated then this deal may happen for cheaper this summer. The chances of January transfer is 2/10 and a summer transfer is 7/10

United have a history of buying young, English, Everton strikers, like Wayne Rooney. Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been mentioned with a potential move to Old Trafford and there is not much in United’s way if they want him. However with Rashford, Greenwood, and Martial all in good form, Ole may not want to bring another striker into the club. The only way this has the potential to go through is if a striker gets a serious injury. This deal looks to be about a 1/10 on the possibility ratings of going through.

United will look for him in the summertime. Christian Eriksen, unfortunately, appears to not be arriving this window. His contract with Spurs ends in this off-season, and United should bid for the creative attacking midfielder. This could bolster United’s midfield and also save the club money if they sign him on a pre-contract. The chance of him arriving this summer on a free transfer is 5/10.

The hype has been building around Jadon Sancho. The English right-winger has been linked to many clubs, but United remain a frontrunner. Dortmund will not sell him this January but in the summer a deal could be made. The supporters have been hounding the Glazers to fork up the cash and bring in Sancho. This deal is important to United and it could be a major turning point in the squad. The chance of Jadon becoming a United man this summer is 7/10.

United have also been rumored to be in the hunt for Ruben Neves and Raul Jiminez. Both are currently playing for Wolves and could help United gain strength in the squad. The chance of Neves joining the Red Devils is 6/10 while Jimizenz’s chance of becoming a Red is near 3/10.

Finally, some players have also been rumored to be leaving the club this window. Ashely Young, Nemanja Matic, Marcus Rojo, and Jesse Lingard could all be saying goodbye to the club in January.
