Manchester United Transfer Talk – Looking Ahead

The winter transfer window feels a long way behind us now. The season is starting to truly heat up, as the final table slowly begins to take shape. Manchester United are in the midst of an incredibly competitive top four race. However, this hasn’t stopped the club or its fans form thinking about the future. Yet, any plans made for the future do directly hinge on United’s UCL qualification. If the club fail to finish in the top 4, all their transfer plans will have to be tossed out. Let’s hope Rangnick can get this squad into some form, before he breaks it all up this summer.

Manchester United Transfer Talk – Christopher Nkunku Incoming?

The former PSG and current RB Leipzig player is in top form this season in the Bundesliga. Nkunku has 20 goals in all competitions this season and sits at 7 assists in the Bundesliga. The Leipzig man is capable of playing as a midfielder or a forward, making him incredibly versatile. Rangnick is a huge fan of Nkunku, so should he have a say this summer, then United will be in for him.

There is no release clause in the player’s contract, but he his currently valued at around 45 million pounds, making him an affordable and reliable player. At 24 years of age, Nkunku is just coming into his prime. Leipzig may be reluctant to let him go though, as they prepare to strengthen in the summer to better compete for the Bundesliga title next season. But, United will surely take their shot at landing Nkunku. This is the type of buy United needs to make this summer.

Manchester United Transfer Talk – Still in for Rice!

The Declan Rice news still won’t go away. The English midfielder is the ‘starboy’ of English football in the press. Reports link Rice to United on a daily basis, and the United board has already made their interest in the midfielder very clear. Rice would cost the club at least 100 million pounds this summer, so whomever then next manager is must be sure this is the CDM United has been missing all these years. There is no doubt that Rice is a world class talent, but his price is certainly exaggerated due to him being English.

Fans will debate about Rice throughout the summer, but he would improve this United side undoubtedly. The only question the club has to ask itself is “Are we willing to spend 100 million on one player and still add more?”. If United break the bank for Rice but make little to no more singings this summer then expect much of the same United next season. Zakaria would’ve been a tremendous bargain buy, and a player that could’ve led the defensive midfield position for many years to come. So United have to either be smart with their buys this summer or be willing to spend a lot of money should they remain keen on Rice.

Manchester United Transfer Talk – Fabian Ruiz to snub Arsenal

Arsenal have been in for Spanish midfielder Fabian Ruiz for over a year now. The Napoli midfielder has refused to sign a contract extension for the Serie A club, as he seeks a move abroad. United have also shown interest in Ruiz over the last few months, but things have began to heat up. Should Paul Pogba leave this summer, as it seems likely he will, United will need to replace him with a player of similar style and quality. There’s no doubt on Pogba’s day he’s one of the best midfielders in the world and not many can touch him. But, its Pogba’s injury record and inconsistency which has let him down.

Fabian Ruiz is a much more consistent performer for his club than Pogba and has a short history of injuries compared to the Frenchman. Ruiz has a pass completion percentage this season of 89%, much more than any of United’s players. The Spaniard also makes 5.59 forward/progressing passes per 90 min, making him one of the more forward thinking midfielders in the world. Due to Ruiz’s refusal to sign a new contract, he could leave Napoli for around 16 million pounds this summer. This is a move United has to make, and should they qualify for the UCL over Arsenal they’ll have the upper hand in securing his signature.

Manchester United Transfer Talk – Quick Updates

Fabio Carvalho could be snatched up by Manchester United this summer after Liverpool failed to secrue the signing from Fulham in January. The Portuguese man has been very impressive for Championship leaders Fulham this season. United have reportedly been sending scouts to his matches more frequently in recent weeks.

Dalot signs a new deal, spelling bad news for Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Ragnick clearly prefers Dalot at the right back position. Dalot is better going forward than Wan-Bissaka, with little difference between the two in defense. Thus, Wan-Bissaka may make a move should he not get regular minutes. Although in fairness, Wan-Bissaka did look quite sharp against Leeds.

Brandon Williams still has a bright future with United. It was probably never in question that Williams would come back to United and compete for a starting role, but his loan spell has gone better than expected. Ralf Ragnick has told Williams, “the message was ‘keep working hard and enjoying playing and you have a big future ahead of you at United’.

That’s it for this week. There are always rumors circulating about our club, but we have to separate fact from fiction. Will Pogba actually sign for Manchester City? No, not a chance!
