In the last 24 hours, rumors have been swirling in the papers and social media that Manchester United is planning to spoil Real Madrid’s reported transfer of Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek. The main source of the rumor is none other than Manchester United legend and now Ajax CEO Edwin van der Sar.
I myself was not too familiar with Donny so I did a little digging on the internet machine. He has 37 caps for Ajax this season, gracing their starting XI 88% of the time, with 10 goals in all competitions (2 in the Champions League). Van de Beek is an attacking midfielder with the potential to bolster Manchester United’s depth in the middle of the park.
