Andreas Pereira today agreed to join Italian club, Lazio, on-loan for the remainder of the 20/21 season. The deal for Pereira would be a loan with an option to buy for €27m (£24.5m) next summer.
Similarly, United has received interest around Daniel James from Leeds United. James believes he could fight for a spot at United, but Leeds is pushing for a loan deal.
Andreas to Lazio
Pereira has struggled in the Manchester United shirt recently. Through the course of different managers, he has moved from a center midfielder to a central attacking midfielder, to a right-sided midfielder, back to a central attacking midfielder. This caused him to have a lack of stability at United. After falling out of favor with Ole Gunnar Solskjær it became apparent that a move away from the club might be what the Brazilian needs.
The Lazio manager, Simone Inghazi, seems to be happy with the move, stating, “I like Pereira so much, he’d be perfect for us.” This deal makes a lot of sense for both clubs, Lazio needs reinforcements and United need to raise funds while removing deadwood.
Leeds Want James
Leeds have expressed serious interest in Daniel James. After pursuing a January transfer in 2019, the deal with Swansea for James collapsed in the final hours of the window. As a result, James signed for Manchester United in the summer of 2019.
While the saga with Leeds appeared to be over, they are trying for James again. Leeds are offering around $15 million for James, which would put United at a loss for his sale. However, James does not like the idea of moving to Elland Road. He has reportedly told Ole Gunnar Solskjær that he would like to stay at United and fight for his spot. Unless United pulls out a right-winger signing before the end of the window, James will most likely stay in Manchester.
