Fresh off their 5-0 win over Club Brugge last night, Manchester United drew Austrian side LASK Linz in the Europa League, round of 16 draw.
LASK, who are the lowest-ranked side remaining the competition, eliminated AZ Alkmaar — who earned a 0-0 draw against United in the group stage earlier in the competition.
The Austrian side shouldn’t be considered an “easy” opponent, beating notable teams in previous rounds including a 2-0 win over AZ Alkmaar, 3-0 win over Sporting CP, 4-1 win over PSV Eindhoven and a Champions League win at home over Basel, 3-1 in August.
Lask have also lost just two of their last 16 home matches in all competitions as they sit top of the Austrian Bundesliga.
Two key players for Lask are keeper Alexander Schlager who is being looked at as the possible netminder for the Austrian national team and striker Marko Raguz who has 5 goals in 8 Europa League matches.
The first leg will take place in Linz on March 12, with the second leg taking place at Old Trafford on March 19.
