“IT FEELS LIKE ’99, BABY!”

OH MY GOD! This team is unstoppable! Manchester United are a force to be reckoned with. I knew this game was coming. What Manchester United put out yesterday is exactly what has been in the cards.

United came back from the international break and started off strong with an absolute thrashing of West Brom. Fresh off a complete dismantling of the bottom half side (lol jk), Manchester United stayed at Old Trafford on Tuesday evening and put on a convincing display against That Team From Istanbul.

First-Half Goals? What is This?!

If West Brom was a thrashing, then the first half against Istanbul was straight up DOMINATION. Ole put out a Starting XI that sent tingles down my spine in all the right places. A front 3 of Cavani, Martial, and Rashford, and a midfield featuring Bruno and Donny is a wet dream come to life (were just missing Pogba to go full FIFA).

Bruno continues to look like the bargain of the century and bagged another brace; the first being a heat-seeking missile into the roof of the net. His second was a hilarious blunder by the goalie, but its about time United have some goalie luck. Usually, every GK decides to pull a worldie out of there ass when they visit OT, so it was fun to see the opposite for once. Next, Rashford won (Thank you VAR gods) and dispatched a penalty to seal a 3-0 halftime score.

Second Half Snooze Fest

You have got to give it to Manchester United. They took their foot off the gas because they could afford to. If you need any more convincing, just look at the second 45 minutes. Clearly the team had a luxurious halftime spread. Woodward catered the finest dark ales and fish and chips as a little congrats to the lads for actually scoring multiple goals in the first half. With their stomachs full and their BAC slowly rising, Manchester sat back for most of the second half. Can’t blame them, game recognize game. It took until the 91st minute for a Red to show up on the scoresheet again. This time it was the unlikely Welshman Dan James.

Keep the Good Times Rollin’

The match was a coherent, dominant show of force from Manchester United, which was quite the opposite display from the reverse fixture. “Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me.. you can’t get fooled again” – George W. Bush -Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Ole handed Cavani his first start which immediately paid dividends the Glazers could only imagine taking out from the club. His hold-up and link-up play was majestic. He simply plays chess while defenders play checkers. Donny was great, and even though Fred doesn’t know how to play a lob pass, he did well too.

This game was nothing short of amazing to watch. In this giving season, we must take a moment to say what we are thankful for. I am thankful for the curb-stomping United handed out today! This team is winning the Champions League. This team is winning the Premier League. This team feels like ’99 baby! Yes, I may be a little manic at the moment, but just let it happen.

You know what to do – bring in the chorus!
