Manchester United will be looking to make it four successive wins in all competitions when they continue their 2020-21 Premier League season at home to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
After dropping the league opener to Crystal Palace, United have rebounded with wins over Luton Town and back to back wins against Brighton & Hove Albion. United have now won each of their last three games across all competitions, scoring nine goals in the process.
It’s always fun when ex-United skipper Jose Mourinho visits Old Trafford but without the fans, a lot of the excitement will be missing, but it’s still Jose.
United Team News
David De Gea will return to the keeper position, replacing Dean Henderson who has been stellar in the matches he has started so far.
Harry Maguire had been a doubt for this match after picking up an ankle injury against Brighton last weekend, but the United captain has recovered and is expected to start.
Bruno Fernandes has also emerged as a doubt due to a thigh strain, although he too is considered more likely than not to recover in time for the weekend. If Fernandes isn’t fit, expect Donny Van De Beek to get the start.
As expected, United will make plenty of changes to the lineup, so Marcus Rashford, Paul Pogba, Mason Greenwood, Anthony Martial, David de Gea, and Fernandes – if fit – are all likely to return to the side.
Tottenham’s only injury concern is Son Heung-min. Despite initially expecting the forward to be out for “a while” with the hamstring injury he picked up against Newcastle last weekend he could feature in the Spurs lineup.
