MATCH PREVIEW: Sheffield United vs Manchester United

It’s getting close to Christmas so for football fans it’s a wonderful time of the year because there are so many matches. Unfortunately, that means little rest for Manchester United who have been involved in quite a few matches since the season started.

United travel to Sheffield United on Thursday for the first match of the holiday fixtures. Sheffield United are sitting in last place in the Premier League so in theory, it is a perfect team to face right now.

Match Build Up

United go into the fixture having won the last nine away matches in the Premier League. Ole’s Reds are also the most in-form team in the top flight, having won four and drawn one of our last five league matches.

On the flip side, Sheffield United have only picked up one point this season in a 1-1 draw against Fulham and have lost each of their last seven matches in the competition.

Manchester United Team News

United’s only injury concern heading into Thursday’s match surrounds Edinson Cavani, who once again missed out on the goalless Manchester derby draw at the weekend.

Anthony Martial is also now back after making his return off the bench at the weekend.

With the number of matches, Solskjaer may look to make one or two changes elsewhere, with Juan Mata, Alex Telles, and Donny van de Beek among those who will be pushing for starts.

Dean Henderson could also be in net on Thursday, facing the team where he was a loaned out star for 2 seasons.

It wouldn’t be a shock to see Mason Greenwood, Anthony Martial, and Marcus Rashford to lead the line against Chris Wilder’s struggling side.

Predicted Manchester United XI: De Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw, McTominay, Fred, Fernandes, Greenwood, Martial, Rashford
